Egyptology talk this Thursday!

Really, who isn't interested in ancient Egypt?!  Please join us for this event to learn more about the early days--

Historian/writer Jason Thompson will discuss travel to Egypt during the European Grand Tour era and talk about his new book, Wonderful Things: A History of Egyptology: From Antiquity to 1881.

The program takes place in Central’s Carnegie Room on July 9 at 7 p.m.

Wonderful Things is a story of the people—famous and obscure—who constructed the picture of ancient Egypt that we have today, recovered the Egyptian past while inventing it anew, and made a lost civilization comprehensible to generations of readers and viewers thousands of years later.
