To commemorate the entry of the U.S. into WWI

"The Great War" swept away the remnants of the 19th century and changed almost everything.  St. Louis Public Library has mounted a wonderful exhibit in Central's Great Hall-- don't miss it!  Below are some pictures, but they really can't do it justice.

The Fine Arts Room has a display of books about the arts of the war, especially the iconic posters.  Here is a list of these and more:

A dough-boy uniform and a Salvation Army Nurse uniform are included.

Some excellent artwork from a POW camp is on view.
