St. Louis Area Artists Files

The files on local artists are now a part of the St. Louis Room.  The staff of this large area, created in 2012 on the third floor of Central Library, handles questions about all local subjects, including the arts.

There are over 3300!  As with the architects, some information is absolutely minimal, with not much more than a name and one exhibition, or even just an address.  But many of them have thick files that contain much valuable information, including questionnaires filled out by the artists themselves, exhibition fliers, newspaper and magazine articles, and obituaries.
